Drinking and tap water
Crete has very good tap water in most areas, especially outside the larger towns. In some areas the water has a bit mineral taste. The water is normally clean and drinkable. If you do not want to drink the water where you are staying, you can buy bottled water in all supermarkets and kiosks. For babies, small children and elderly you should buy bottled water.
Toilets in Crete
The drainage in Crete and Greece for that matter is not capable of taking paper such as toilet paper. Therefore there are provided baskets in the WC’s for waste. Please use these as the drainage easily clogs up.
