Elounda is a very popular seaside resort on the northern coast of the Lassithi Prefecture, which boasts some of the loveliest beaches in Crete. It has retained much of its traditional features, which have not been ruined by the settlement’s excellent tourist infrastructure. Elounda is situated approximately 10 km from Agios Nikolaos, the capital and the main port of the prefecture.
