Beachside Taverna

For anyone who travels to the south of
the island, between Preveli and Aghia Galini, a visit to
Triopetra beach is a must. It is here that you will
experience a gastronomic delight at the Apothiki
beachside Taverna. Although Andonis welcomes you with
his excellent menu, it is rarely necessary to look at
it. He always has fresh food to offer and is happy for
you to go into his scrupulously clean kitchen to choose
your own fish, etc. Our particular favourite is the
tender and tasty octopus cooked in wine, but anything
you choose is guaranteed to be good.
To reach this little piece of heaven you can either
drive through the little village of Akoumia and down the
mountain road for about 20 minutes, or there is a road
and track from Kerames which takes about the same amount
of time. Triopetra beach is recognised by its
name-giver, the three stones, which jut out of the water
on the eastern side of the lovely long beach. You are
also welcome to use Andonis' blue sunloungers and beach
brollies free of charge."
