Rethymnon Old Town
The old town of Rethymnon is one of the treats of a visit to Crete, with numerous ancient buildings and a maze of narrow streets lined with shops and lively cafes. Rethymnon has a much appreciated stretch of many kilometres of sandy beaches.

The town has an exceptional number of good restaurants along with cafes, bars, clubs and other entertainment. Its location is superbly and centrally suited for exploring the villages dotted along the old national road, and it is only a 45 minute drive from Chania and its Venetian harbour, also Heraklion's attractions (including the Palace of Knossos) are just over an hour's drive away.
